The sun has yet to rise, but your guide is already preparing the boat, loading it with live bait and sharpening hooks. When you arrive at the docks your guide awaits to take you on a true fishing adventure at one of many honey holes that has made Beaver Lake famous for incredible striped bass fishing.

As the boat departs from the dock and makes it's way through the cove to the main lake, you can feel your excitement grow. Depending on where the guide has located fish, you will soon be arriving at your fishing hole. The first thing that you will do is start dropping lines into the water with instruction from the guide. Once you and your group get all the lines out, you MAY be able to relax for a moment, but relaxing is something you are not going to do for very long.

The sun is starting to rise and the lake is peaceful until you hear one or two of the baitcast reels peeling out line as the Stripers crash your bait. You can't get to the rod quick enough, but once you do, with every ounce of energy, you set that hook and drive it deep into the Stripers mouth. Now you just hold on for the ride of your life, battling one of these impressive fish.

Throughout the morning or the day, you will be switching excitement between you and your friends as each you of take your turns and conquering the Striper.

This could be the trip of a lifetime. It is known by many avid fishermen that Beaver Lake holds many 40lb fish. And for the lucky few, a fish over 60 pounds could be cruising around your bait., so if you are looking for a trophy, this is your chance. You can't find fishing like this on Lake Texoma, or anywhere else for that matter.

Beard's Guide Service gives you the most options in meals, lodging, and guided trout fishing. Men, women, children, groups, experienced trophy trout fishers, beginners, fly fishers, all are welcome at Beard's. We have options for any trout fishing plans you have!

If all you want is a day of trout fishing with a top notch guide, but no meals or lodging, give us a call. If you plan to fish for two or more days and want flexible meal and lodging options, give us a call. Whether it's just you, or you and a few friends, or a larger group, one day or multiple day trips, consider all the options we present. Then call us with a description of what you'd enjoy, and we'll help you finish making plans.

We know that a truly wonderful trout fishing trip means catching trophy trout. But it also means enjoying the total trip experience. It is just as important to enjoy great meals, comfortable lodging, and to have fun on the river in between fish catches. A White River trout fishing trip with a high level of satisfaction means flexibly in all aspects of the trip, not just the fishing! Explore our dining, lodging, and fishing pages to see just how flexible and fun a trip with Beard's can be!

Catching trophy trout is our specialty. Fly fishing or spin fishing, we catch trout of four pounds or more on almost all trips. Our guides all have extensive experience fishing the White and North Fork rivers in all types of weather and water conditions. We conduct trips all year as there are no closed seasons for Arkansas trout fishing. For experienced guides there is no particular "best" time of year for catching trophy trout, but most of our serious trophy fishermen prefer the cooler months of October, November, December, February, March, and April. Still others prefer fishing the high waters that typically occur in late spring, summer, and early fall months.

Your Beard's guide is more than just a "boat driver". One of the comments many people make after their first guided fishing trip is just how much easier it is to fish with a good guide than fishing alone. A good guide can "put you on the fish" in any water condition, any time of year. That takes extensive knowledge of trout habitat and feeding habits. And when that knowledge gets you hooked on a nice fish in a strong current the challenge begins. The current pulls on your line and you can lose control of the fight. But with the boat in the hands of a skilled guide you'll just dance around that fish, even in strong current. The guide puts you on the fish, then sees to it you catch them! When you add it all up - fishing knowledge, comfortable safe equipment, and skilled boat handling - you'll soon see what seasoned fishermen know - A good guide is well worth the money!

When you are having fun there's never enough time in a day. That is why we do all we can to give you more fishing time. We'll pick you up at your resort or lodging facility. We clean and bag your fish. We help you with your gear. If you have fished with us before and would like to go out with a specific guide, we'll do our best to arrange that. And if you want to fish a certain stretch of the river anywhere between Bull Shoals dam and Calico Rock, we'll take you. Yes, we are service oriented. And that is why we have never sent anyone home unhappy!
